The Samuel Hearne Secondary 3 on 3 Tournament.
Samuel Hearne Secondary School in Inuvik NT was the host of the annual S.H.S.S. 3 on 3 tournament this past weekend. The weekend was a huge success with 30+ kids attending the pre-tournament clinic and then 47 participants breaking up into 12 teams to compete for the 3 on 3 titles.

Jr. Girls
The Raptors were the round robin champs and were also victorious in the championship game to an upstart Celtics Team. Final score in the championship game was 5-1 in favor of the Raptors. Championship Team players were Mariyah Snowshoe, Briana Martin, Colleen Kangegana, and Shiense Cockney.

Jr Boys
The Canucks defeated the Flames in the Championship Game. The final score was 7-5. The Flames avenged an earlier loss in the Round Robin by climbing into the Championship Game against the undefeated Canucks. Winning team players were Jozef Semmler, Morgan Sydney, Farrell Pope, and Danny Kaye.

Ice Jam won the tourney with an undefeated record. The Championship Game close and needed overtime to decide the winner. The final score was 11-10, against a very powerful Stiffs squad. Winning team players were Eric Church, Will Logan, and Lorne Guy.

This event was sponsored by Basketball NWT and the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation's Hoops for Heart Campaign. This was done in conjunction with a Friday and Saturday morning Basketball Clinic conducted by Basketball NWT Technical Director Nick Diem. The event was very competitive and highly spirited.
