Girls All Territory Camp in the Newspaper
Girls All Territory Camp
The 1st ever Girls All Territory Camp happened in Yellowknife July 2-6th. There were a total of 32 athletes from Yukon and the NWT that participated in the camp. The girls were involved with numerous on court sessions including: nutrition, sports psychology, yoga and running sessions to name a few. The girls were able to have some tough competition in the evenings with games against the Yukon Westerns Team, NWT Westerns Team and two local NWT teams. The exciting game of the weekend happened on Sunday evening against the two Westerns teams- where NWT Westerns beat the Yukon Westerns team. It was a great weekend with lots of basketball. The girls had a special guest on Monday morning- Norm Hann- who competed on the Canadian National Team in 1995. Norm had an awesome court presence with the girls and we were lucky to have him along with other special guests come in to work with the girls this past weekend. Thank you to all the coaches, volunteers, parents and athletes for making this 1st annual event a huge success!
