Hiring Summer Camp Coaches!

Position:         Summer Camp Coach (Up to 7 positions)
Term:               June 26 – August 23
Salary:             $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
Location:         Yellowknife
Reports to:      Summer Camp Coordinator
 
The NWT Soccer Association (NWT Soccer) and Basketball NWT (BNWT) is working to develop and maintain a sustainable framework of territory-wide programs and services for players, coaches, officials and administrators, ensuring all residents have the support they need to succeed in soccer/futsal and basketball.

NWT Soccer and Basketball NWT, in collaboration with its partners and members, strives for soccer and basketball to be a driving force of positive change for residents of all ages and abilities in the Northwest Territories.
 
Position Overview
The Summer Camp Coaches are responsible for assisting the Summer Camp Coordinator with the delivery of the Northwestel Outdoor Summer Camps July 2 – August 23, 2024.
 
Activities & Duties

1. Event Coordination
   • Assisting with the delivery of the Northwestel Outdoor Summer Camps in Yellowknife.
      

Preferred Qualifications

1. Coach Education
   • Soccer: Holds, at a minimum, Active Start & FUNdamentals or Learn to Train coaching certification.
   • Basketball: Holds at a minimum, FUNdamentals coaching certification.
   • Completion of the following online programs:
     • Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders (Online)
     • Making Ethical Decisions Online Evaluation (Online)
     • Making Headway E-Learning (Soccer/Basketball Specific Module)

 

1. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
   • Ability and experience speaking to and facilitating groups.

 

1. Additional Requirements
   • Standard First Aid Level 1, CPR & AED
   • Satisfactory criminal records check, and vulnerable sector check required.
